Rena is a writer and educator. She loves new ideas and encourages different perspectives. She is the Founder and Director for an International K-12 school in Costa Rica where her passion for writing and her love for learning intersect. She strives to make a positive difference in her community and in the world. She believes we succeed together.
She is an avid reader and a lifelong learner having studied Creative Writing and Anthropology at Arizona State University and later earning Certificates in both Early Education Leadership as well as School Management & Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Harvard Business School. She is obsessed with continuing education and can regularly be found in the back corner of a zoom classroom, or an online workshop, or an in-person institute learning something new.
Phew… that was a mouthful and doesn’t really say a lot.
I was born and raised in California but have lived in Costa Rica for the last 20 years. I love to travel (although there are still many places on my “must travel to” list). My husband and I have been a team for over 30 years – sharing our strengths, our neurosis (neuroses in the plural?), two children and several wonderful dogs.
I am a lifelong learner, an educator, and a writer – which is to say that I love to read, I am addicted to learning, and I have a tendency to rant when I am passionate about something (cue an eyeroll from my son and my daughter would say that I “drone on.”) … But above all, I absolutely love to write.
